Audience statistics and measurements

We use the Matomo Analytics tool (https://matomo.org) to measure audience statistics on the different pages and articles that we publish. This allows us to adapt our content to our visitors and improve navigation. In this context, we collect the following information:

  • The anonymized IP address on the last octets,
  • The day and time of the request in the time zone of the site and that of the visitor,
  • The visitor’s location: country, region, city and an estimate of latitude and longitude (Geolocation),
  • The main language of the browser used (“Accept-Langueg” header),
  • The user agent of the browser used (“User-Agent” header), which allows us to detect browser name, operating system, device type (desktop, tablet, smartphone, tv, car, console, etc.), brand and model,
  • The title and URL of the page viewed,
  • The URL of the previous page to the viewed page (“Referrer” header),
  • The screen resolution of the used device,
  • Any files clicked or downloaded,
  • Page generation time,
  • External links that were clicked.

All Matomo statistics data is retained for a rolling period of 365 days.

Social networks

Our site uses third party applications, which allow the user to share the content of our site with other people or to communicate to these other people their opinion on the content of our site. This is the case for the “Share” or “Like” buttons from social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.

When the customer visits a web page containing such a button, the browser establishes a direct connection with the social network’s servers. If connected to the social network while browsing, the application buttons allow you to link the pages viewed to the user’s account. How long we retain your data
